NexGen Virtual and Cisco Webex have expanded their partnership to introduce new advanced reporting functionality to the NexGen Virtual Office App.
The new update of NexGen’s hybrid work and collaboration platform implements the singular virtual office experience and performance management toolset in Webex tailored for remote and hybrid workplaces. This will empower managers, ensure smooth communication between employees and optimise productivity and performance.
Joseph Jacoboni, Founder and CEO of NexGen Technologies, said:
Collaborative virtual offices are the most valuable when they offer real-time insights. Providing organizations with a data-based understanding of their workforce is crucial to enabling informed decision-making and enhancing performance at all levels of the company.”
The new functionality is an update of NexGen Virtual and Webex’s partnership, initially launched in December 2022.
The NexGen Virtual Office App’s Updated Feature Set
The product provides remote and hybrid teams with a virtual version of a real-life office environment. In practical terms, this means secure, personalised 3D floor plans and customised office spaces.
On each of these virtual office floors, employee avatars have colour-coded status symbols that allow managers to monitor staff activity and locate where employees are via the floor plan. The platform includes the capability to immediately visit a coworker in their office through video conferencing, which encourages more seamless collaboration.
Guests can be welcomed to a user’s virtual office or participate in conference rooms, cafes or training facilities via video conferencing, enabling them to have discussions with managers or colleagues similar to a physical office space. These virtual rooms can accommodate up to 500 video users without degradation, with features such as screen sharing.
The Virtual Office’s updated features include increased visibility and accessibility to improve communication, collaboration, and performance across all functions. With NexGen Virtual Office and advanced business management and performance tools, managers benefit from a 360-degree view of their workplace.
NexGen Virtual Office App also streamlines organizations’ tech stacks and enables secure, encrypted document and video transferring. Video meetings can be recorded with up to 500 users at once, while text, voice, and video communication, real-time whiteboards, transcripts, notes, captions, and additional in-platform productivity tools are included.
What Happened At Last Month’s Webex One?
Cisco Webex underlined its new AI strategy to revolutionise communication and collaboration at last month’s Webex One event. Webex’s AI strategy encompassed real-time media models (RMMs) and the Webex AI Codec.
Webex’s ambition is to leverage real-time audio and video communications to meet common challenges, such as ensuring crystal-clear audio and video calls even in low bandwidth environments. Cisco also unveiled its new Webex AI Assistant with new features to improve customer productivity and accuracy.
Also revealed at the event, users will soon be able to participate in or host Webex meetings on Apple TV 4K and Apple Watch. The Webex app will be available in the Apple TV App Store, featuring a QR code system that offers users a seamless login experience. Large displays are supported using Continuity Camera support in tvOS 17 to wirelessly connect their iPhone or iPad to Apple TV 4K and use the device’s camera and microphone to participate in meetings.
Furthermore, Cisco and Bang & Olufsen partnered to produce wireless earbuds tailored for secure hybrid working. The Bang & Olufsen Cisco 950 earbuds are designed using advanced security and manageability features with premium sound quality to provide high-quality, customised audio experiences for professionals on the go.
Finally, Cisco and NVIDIA expanded their partnership by revealing an artificial intelligence-powered room kit. Cisco promised simple deployment, improved video and sound and enhanced meeting operability while using Microsoft Teams. The kit’s power is powered by NVIDIA’s Jetson edge AI platform.
