Virgin Group Deploys Workvivo for 60,000 Employees

Virgin Group has integrated Workvivo to connect 60,000 employees and leaders across 40 Virgin companies.

Employees will be able to receive communications directly from leadership and each other and enjoy increased social connections within the company.

The “Virgin Family” Workvivo platform was also designed with a focus on brand to boost brand knowledge.

Nikki Humphrey, Chief People Officer at the Virgin Group, spoke about some of Workvivo’s benefits it is enjoying: “We’re delighted to have partnered with Workvivo to create Virgin Family and connect our 60,000 colleagues across the globe.

“Having connection and collaboration opportunities at our fingertips, really has brought our people closer together.

“Not only that, but it’s helping us to drive an extraordinary people experience where people can develop, connect with like-minded colleagues across the world, and personalise the platform according to their interests.”

Benefits of Workvivo

Workvivo set out some of the benefits Virgin is gaining by using its platform, which include increased social connections and engagement, an emphasis on brand and culture, improved connectivity with the leadership, and internal groups and micro-communities to provide various themed communication channels called ‘Spaces’.

Through the new Workvivo-powered platform, Virgin employees will be able to access company news, shout-outs from colleagues, community spaces, and insights into Virgin companies around the world.

According to Workvivo, its solution will give all Virgin employees a voice, whether they work in a leadership role, as a pilot on a plane or chef on a ship.

A Digital Home

Included within the platform are spaces that help to make it like a “digital home” for employees.

Using a ‘Cookie Jar’, employees can access treats and discounts on Virgin experiences.

Through a ‘Purpose Playground’, Virgin’s mission of “changing business for good” is expounded with stories from around the organisation that reflect this mission.

A ‘Collaboration Station’ encourages collaboration, allowing employees to share ideas and connect with colleagues.

Brand Central is a space to help employees increase their understanding of the Virgin brand and get all the help they need to become brand advocates.

There is also a Wiggle Room which provides employees with a fun space to interact by sharing pictures of their pets, for example.

John Goulding, Founder and CEO of Workvivo, commented on the launch: “We all know Virgin for its innovation and market disruption.

“With ‘Virgin Family’ they are challenging the status quo, doing something very different to a traditional employee platform and giving all employees a voice.

“What they have done with the thoughtful branding is truly world-class and it’s been inspiring to see them make this platform their own.”

“In today’s complex environment, organizations will survive or thrive based on their talent and employee engagement strategies.

“Organizations like Virgin Group are leading the way by investing in their employee experience and it’s great to already see the impact in terms of social connection, collaboration, and engagement with the company culture and news.”

Workvivo is an employee experience platform that aims to simplify communication and increase engagement by enhancing employee connections within companies.

To achieve this, it unifies employee communications, engagement, intranet, and measurement features into a single application that simultaneously aggregates the organisation’s culture. UC Today has provided a detailed view of Workvivo and its platform offering.

In April 2023, Zoom acquired Workvivo and revealed its plans to integrate Workvivo into its platform to expand its employee experience tools.
