New Teams Features and Loop Goes Live on Microsoft 365

Microsoft 365 has coincided the release of new Teams capabilities and the general availability of Loop on the platform with discounts for both Microsoft 365 subscriptions and Teams Phone bundles.

A 15 percent discount is on offer for Microsoft 365 Business Standard for customers in the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada until December 29th, 2023.

Teams Phone bundles can also be snapped up for 33 percent off the normal price between now and January 17th, 2024.

The Microsoft productivity and collaboration suite has also introduced Microsoft ClipChamp, a video content creation and editing software.

Brenna Robinson, General Manager, Microsoft 365, Small and Medium Business at Microsoft, wrote in a blog post announcing the news: “At Microsoft, we are committed to helping our small and medium-sized business (SMB) customers drive business growth by providing tools to help them unlock their productivity and creativity—with ease—this holiday and beyond.

“That is why we are constantly evolving the Microsoft 365 platform by introducing new experiences like Microsoft Clipchamp and Microsoft Loop—available now for Microsoft 365 Business Standard or Microsoft 365 Business Premium subscribers.

“We’ve also added new features to Microsoft Teams Essentials and Microsoft Teams Phone, both of which are key additions for leveraging the full potential of your Microsoft 365 Business subscription.”

New Teams Features

Microsoft Teams Essentials now includes Microsoft Bookings, a tool that enables customers to book meetings directly with a company, instead of scheduling meetings.

Bookings integrates directly into the Teams platform on which virtual meetings can take place.

Teams Phone has undergone an upgrade, including shared calling, which lets you assign a number and calling plan to groups of licenced users.

Alerts for encrypted voicemails and private lines have also been available. Private lines allow you to set up a second phone number, removing the need to go through delegates, admins, and assistants.

Admins will no longer need to use the Teams Admin Center or Microsoft 365 Admin Center to set up Teams, as it can now be done from within Teams using the Admin app.

The Admin app offers recommendations and the optimal settings for small businesses, plus the ability to receive support from Microsoft.

The app is free to download from the business store for businesses of any size and it is automatically installed in Teams for businesses with fewer than 25 users.

Alongside its Teams Phone discount, Teams Essentials can also be trialled for free for one month without any commitment for users in the United States.

Loop Launches on 365

Microsoft Loop is a co-creation app with AI capabilities that will help Microsoft 365 users to keep their work organised by housing projects in a single location while enabling teams to collaborate on them using their preferred application.

Loop keeps collaborative content in sync across all the applications in which they have been shared, including Outlook, Teams, and more.

The Loop app is now generally available for Microsoft 365 Business Standard and Business Premium customers at no additional cost.
