Neat is introducing new management and insight APIs on Neat Pulse, representing its first major upgrade to the online management and support service.
According to the unified communications provider, these APIs will increase the flexibility, functionality, and value of all Neat devices for Plus and Pro plan holders.
Neat Pulse management APIs allow organisations to monitor device health, restart devices, update settings, and create enrolment codes for locations, regions, and rooms anywhere in the world.
Kevin McMenamy, VP of Software Engineering & CTO at Neat, outlined the latest API capabilities:
New APIs will empower integrators and customers to develop innovative solutions that provide deeper insights and tighter management of your meeting spaces.”
“These solutions can guide your investment decisions on technology and space configuration and make understanding your return on investment easier.
“It will enable integrators to build on Neat Pulse with their multi-vendor, multi-asset management platforms in a more flexible, less complex way while offering you ever-increasing value.”
New Neat Pulse APIs
The latest Neat Pulse APIs will unlock more insights and management capabilities, such as the ability to make data-driven decision relating to the use of space, the technology used, the frequency of bookings and no-shows, and the number of times spaces are used without a reservation.
By enabling various integrator solutions across Neat devices, the Neat Pulse APIs reduce complexity, allowing you to view all platforms from a single pane of glass.
Neat is teaming up on new APIs with partners like Neowitt, the all-in-one workspace and building platform, and the device management platform Utelogy.
Currently in beta, these APIs are designed to provide more detailed data for technologies such as Neat Sense, the advanced set of smart room sensor technologies that allow you to monitor air quality, lighting conditions, ambient noise, humidity, and the number of people in the room.
Customers with a Plus or Pro Plan will have complete access to Neat Pulse APIs and API key generators from late April through the Settings page on the Pulse tenant.
As well as APIs, Neat is releasing several other capabilities to help manage device deployments in Neat Pulse.
One such addition will be the option to control when and how Neat device upgrades take place to match your business requirements.
You will also be able to activate SAML SSO to export device data, log in securely, support bulk device enrollment, and streamline deployments. As a result, IT managers will be able to save time and reduce expenses.
Neat App Hub
The Neat app hub has also been made available in a limited beta for room and desk scheduling apps from Appspace, Flowscape 22Miles, Robin, Smarten Spaces, askUMA, and NFS Technology.
The hub is designed to create more dynamic and engaging meetings while giving businesses a greater choice over their meeting space deployments.
McMenamy revealed further apps on their way:
Additional app categories, including visual collaboration apps, web app access, and custom apps, are in co-development, and a beta is coming soon.
“These tools will help you address digital signage, visitor management, wayfinding, and more.
“They’ll also help you move, inspire, and energise your teams to brainstorm, ideate, plan, and more easily create what they need to do faster and more efficiently.”
Last year, Neat announced its ‘industry-first’ app hub that makes third-party business apps available on Neat devices, including popular apps like Slack, Miro, Robin, and others.
In October 2023, Neat appointed Zoom’s former Chief Marketing Officer, Janine Pelosi, as its new CEO.
