Skedda Introduces New Visitor Management Features

Skedda has launched new Visitor Management features, which the company says will help to ‘create secure, efficient, and welcoming visitor experiences’.

The workplace management software provider, Skedda, has renewed the self check-in and check-out process, updated its automated notifications, and added more way to customise invitations.

As a result, Skedda Visitor Management lets you welcome guests more easily, stay compliant, and keep a tab on all workplace visits.

Visitor Management is a relatively recent addition to Skedda’s portfolio, having just launched in October 2023. John-Henry Forster, SVP of Product at Skedda, said at the time: “Your employees aren’t the only ones coming in and out of the office regularly, and on different days or weeks.

“Now anyone, including visitors, using your workspace can have a great experience. We’re excited to continue improving Visitor Management based on your feedback.”

New Features

The following new features were all made available to Skedda Visitor Management users as of February 28th, 2024.

Walk-in Visitor Check-ins: With this addition, guests can now schedule visits on demand when they show up at your business. All they have to do is create an appointment, check in, and select the person they would like to meet with. The person chosen for the meeting from your organisation will then be notified.

Custom Notes for Emails: Customised messages can now be included in every confirmation email you send out to visitors. This will help to ensure they have all the information they need prior to their visit. You may wish to remind them to bring their laptop to take part in a collaborative meeting, for example.

Venue Notifications for Visits: You can ensure teams are kept in the loop about all visitor activity at your workplace by sharing all notifications to the email of your choice via the “Basics” settings page. This will distribute email notifications every time visits are created, updated, or cancelled by non-admin users.

Notify Other Teams: You can now CC emails that you want to be shared with other teams to inform them of new visits, visitor arrivals, or changes to existing visits. You could add your security team’s contact email, for example, to help them keep track of visits to your business.

Improved Check-In and Check-Out: Visitors can now choose from a range of check in and check out methods when they arrive at their scheduled appointment, which allows them to choose the most convenient option for them.

Previously, checking in and out could only be done by connecting a tablet to Skedda. Now, administrators can check visitors in and out of their visits using the “Visits” page in their Skedda account, allowing you to manage everything from the Skedda platform.

Tablet check ins and check outs have also been enhanced by enabling visitors to check in and out directly through the tablet they are using to connect to Skedda. This is an alternative to the scannable QR code that visitors can already use to check in and out.

If you are already a Skedda customer and you wish to add Visitor Management, you simply need to log in to your Skedda account, go to the ‘Settings’ menu and choose ‘Visitor management’, then select ‘Enable visitor management’.
