Zoom has announced a Workvivo resale solution to empower its channel partners.
Workvivo, the employee experience platform that aims to streamline communication and foster engagement, will now be accessible to all of Zoom’s channel partners, enabling them to offer the solution to their clientele.
Mark Jenkins, Head of Global Channels and Alliances at Zoom, said:
By unlocking new routes to market, partners are able to grow their business and expand their portfolio alongside Zoom. Our partners play a pivotal role in delivering Zoom’s best-in-class solutions to our customers around the globe. We are excited that Zoom resale partners now have the ability to sell Workvivo, enabling more customers to enhance their employee experience.”
In April 2023, Zoom expanded its collaboration platform by acquiring Workvivo. This allowed the business to offer its customers fresh ways to keep their workforce informed, connected, and engaged. Following the acquisition, Zoom introduced a referral program enabling its partners to recommend Workvivo to their customers.
Last year, Workvivo was launched within the new Zoom Workplace desktop app, providing users with a fluid experience that allows them to transition smoothly between Workvivo and other Zoom features such as Team Chat, Meetings, and Whiteboard within a unified application.
Additionally, a recent integration between Zoom Rooms and Workvivo TV, which is Workvivo’s digital signage solution, enables organisations to broadcast their Workvivo digest directly to Zoom Rooms’ screens, encouraging instant communication across the company.
“Since the acquisition, we’ve seen how complementary Workvivo is with Zoom Workplace,” added John Goulding, founder of Workvivo and head of digital employee experience at Zoom. “Customers now have the opportunity to add amazing employee experience functionality to their existing Zoom services. Organisations can also purchase Workvivo as a comprehensive standalone employee experience platform. We’re so excited to make Workvivo available to the Zoom partner ecosystem.”
Workplace By Meta’s Migration Offering To Workvivo By Zoom
In May, Meta announced it was closing Workplace.
Meta has announced that the Workplace platform will remain operational until September 2025. Following this period, it will transition to a read-only mode until May 2026, when the platform will be fully shut down. Meta has recommended Workvivo by Zoom as an alternative for Workplace users, which is ready for migration.
“Since Workvivo joined the Zoom family, we’ve seen how powerful this platform is at engaging workforces and bringing culture to life – especially for frontline employees who may not have a desk or even an email address,” said Zoom CEO and Founder Eric S. Yuan. “We are excited to support Workplace from Meta’s customers and help them reach their goals of reaching and engaging employees – whether they’re desk or frontline workers.”
However, last week, Simpplr announced a solution to challenge Workvivo and Zoom for Meta Workplace customers. It launched its own Workplace by Meta migration programme. As an extra incentive, Simpplr is offering a six-month complimentary service for customers who transition to their platform by October 31, 2024.
What Other Zoom News Has Happened Recently?
It’s been a busy June for Zoom so far.
Earlier this month, Zoom CEO and Founder Eric Yuan shared his vision of AI-powered avatars that can represent and make decisions for their human counterparts, such as attending meetings we cannot make ourselves.
In an interview with the technology publication The Verge, Yuan referred to these AI versions of people as “digital twins”, a term already used to describe virtual representations of real-world objects or systems.
Yuan envisages this not being a singular “twin” but that humans will be able to use multiple such digital copies of themselves, with the potential to simultaneously communicate and make decisions for us on Zoom and elsewhere without us needing to be present.
This month, Zoom also opened its “experience centre” in London, which it says demonstrates its commitment to the UK market.
Zoom describes the Experience Center as an “innovative” and “inspirational” space designed to showcase its products, solutions, and values to customers. This new centre follows the opening of the Zoom Engagement Hub in August of the previous year, which provides employees with a collaborative space to share strategies and ideas, bringing Zoom’s workplace strategy to life.
