Lightware Enhances Hybrid Meetings With Advanced Voice Tracking Solution

Lightware has announced a new advanced voice-tracking solution tailored to enhance hybrid meetings.

The new offering integrates Lightware’s advanced AV technologies with superior voice tracking capabilities to deliver a top-tier, customisable, and brand-agnostic ecosystem. This system facilitates seamless and unobtrusive room control, setting a new standard for meeting environments.

The solution results from a collaborative effort between Lightware, Sennheiser, and Yamaha, leveraging their microphone technologies to provide a superior audio experience.

Gergely Vida, CEO of Lightware, said:

The availability of Lightware Voice Tracking represents a significant step forward for organisations seeking to optimise hybrid meeting experiences. It also underlines our ongoing commitment to bring innovative new technologies to market that meet the needs of our customers in evolving workplace environments. We look forward to helping users make the best use of their meeting time, wherever they are located.”

More Specifics On The Solution’s Feature Set

Lightware’s voice-tracking solution is engineered with a suite of features intending to elevate the hybrid meeting experience. Central to its design is the promotion of meeting equity, ensuring that remote participants feel fully engaged as if they were physically present. This aspires to foster a natural flow of conversation among all attendees, irrespective of their location.

The system’s intelligent tracking capabilities offer customisation options to either follow presenters or zoom in on specific participants. This makes it useful in settings like classrooms, conference rooms, and remote collaboration spaces where clear, dynamic communication is essential.

To prevent disorienting rapid camera switches during lively debates, the system frames the entire room, providing a comprehensive view when no one is speaking or when the discussion becomes particularly animated.

A fixed camera captures the entire room, while Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ) cameras can be directed at individual speakers. Presently, the system is compatible with cameras that use the VISCA protocol. Lightware is also working towards expanding support to include cameras that operate with UVC and E-PTZ protocols, broadening its applicability for future use.

Lightware’s 2024 So Far

Earlier this week, Lightware bolstered its Enterprise leadership team with several key appointments to enhance its global operations.

Craig McQueen, formerly the Sales Director at Lightware UK, has been appointed as the Director of Enterprise Sales for the EMEA region at Lightware Headquarters. McQueen will work alongside Michael “Moose” Adams, who has been the Director of Enterprise Sales for the US region since April 2023. In addition, Péter Vida has assumed the role of Enterprise Sales Manager, further strengthening the enterprise sales leadership team.

Lightware states that the new Enterprise team will play a crucial role in expanding its international presence and ensuring the continued delivery of cutting-edge solutions to its Enterprise clients worldwide.

Last month, Lenovo and Lightware partnered to launch an advanced solution for Microsoft Teams Rooms designed to enhance hybrid work.

The collaboration integrates Lightware’s sophisticated Taurus devices and LARA control software with Lenovo’s ThinkSmart solutions designed for Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR). These combined solutions aim to redefine collaboration technology standards by providing seamless integration, advanced functionality, and an enhanced user experience in modern meeting room environments.

Meanwhile, in May, Lightware announced a new integration between its Taurus Switcher solutions and Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows that facilitates bring your own device (BYOD) connectivity.

Lightware has tailored its solution to meet the needs of systems integrators, meeting room users, and IT professionals by providing advanced BYOD functionality and room control capabilities. The Taurus UCX/TPX Series Universal Switchers allow Teams Rooms users to easily connect their personal laptops to the room’s meeting system, enabling content sharing and access to controls for lighting, projectors, and shades, enhancing the overall meeting experience.
