HP has unveiled a swathe of new, AI-powered Poly solutions designed to enhance video conferencing and hybrid collaboration.
Among the compelling reveals at this week’s HP Imagine event were new Poly Studio Video Bars, a significant upgrade to the Poly VideoOS platform, and an innovative new program around AI and collaboration experimentation called Poly Labs.
Firstly, HP has expanded its portfolio of AI-enabled multi-camera video conferencing solutions with the introduction of the Poly Studio X32 and Poly Studio X72 all-in-one video bars, as well as the Poly Studio V32 and Poly Studio V72 premium USB video bars.
Meanwhile, the latest Poly VideoOS 4.4 software introduces new AI capabilities for existing meeting room devices. With live setup for Poly DirectorAI Perimeter, IT admins can configure smart camera boundaries in real time, ensuring only meeting participants are captured. HP outlines that Poly NoiseBlockAI v2 uses machine learning and advanced noise filtering to eliminate reverberations from glass walls and reflective surfaces.
Poly Labs is pitched as a new program offering customers early access to experimental features. One such feature, VoiceScoreAI, analyses audio quality in meeting rooms and provides suggestions to enhance the overall experience.
Additionally, HP is enhancing its Poly Lens cloud management platform and private cloud infrastructure with more customised and secure options.
Poly Lens Premium offers advanced features like Remote Room Control for IT admins to troubleshoot and resolve issues remotely. Poly CloudConnect for Zoom Rooms enables participants to join Microsoft Teams calls from Zoom Rooms with dual monitor support and content sharing. Poly PrivateConnect Meeting Control provides greater flexibility and configuration options for secure video environments.
Another pertinent announcement was that HP is leveraging its audio, video, and computing expertise to enhance video conferencing through a Google partnership around Project Starline.
Together, they are introducing Project Starline technology to workplaces, offering an immersive experience with advanced AI and 3D imaging that makes participants feel like they are in the same room. Reservations for priority delivery of the first units, shipping in 2025, are now open.
HP’s Workforce Solutions
Among the other eye-catching announcements at this week’s event have been several offerings around workplace solutions.
Perhaps the most critical update is the expansion of access to the HP Workforce Experience Platform and the addition of multiple new features.
HP is expanding access to the Workforce Experience Platform Beta for new or renewing HP Proactive Insights customers in the US at no extra cost. The new release includes features for monitoring, securing, and managing printer and PC performance, AI-powered fleet management, and employee sentiment analysis.
Integrations with Microsoft Power BI, Power Automate, and Tableau are available now, with plans to support Microsoft Intune and ServiceNow in the future. This aspires to provide IT with a holistic view of their device fleet, better data accuracy, and more tailored IT operations, reducing expenses and improving ROI.
HP is launching a new AI advisory service intending to help customers maximise the potential of Microsoft 365 Copilot. This service will assess a company’s AI readiness, conduct interactive workshops, and assist in planning the rollout of new AI tools. It will be available in November 2024 in the US, UK, France, Spain, Ireland, and Germany.
HP also announced the global availability of HP Managed Collaboration Services, designed to support organisations in modernising and maintaining conference rooms. Utilising Poly and HP equipment, these services aim to offer flexible, reliable and managed room solutions to ensure every space is video-enabled and ready for use, delivering exceptional meeting experiences.
HP Moves Deeper into Employee Experience with Vyopta Acquisition
Also this week at HP Imagine, HP acquired Vyopta to boost the capabilities of its recently launched Workforce Experience Platform. Founded in 2007, Vyopta provides a comprehensive platform designed to monitor and manage large unified communications networks.
Earlier this year, HP introduced the Workforce Experience Platform in private beta, aiming to improve employee experience and streamline IT management within a unified platform. According to the company, a recent acquisition “marks the next step in the platform journey,” further differentiating HP from its competitors in the market.
“With the addition of Vyopta’s unique capabilities, HP has a tremendous opportunity to unlock fulfilling employee experiences and meet the evolving needs of our customers,” said Faisal Masud, President of HP Digital Services. “Vyopta has revolutionised the way organisations deliver collaboration experiences by providing contextual intelligence, unified visibility, and actionable alerts across a wide range of business collaboration applications, devices, and infrastructure.”
