Bose Professional has expanded its AMU speaker series to create more immersive workspaces for sectors such as education, retail, and hospitality.
Bose Professional has announced the global launch of two new AMU multi-use loudspeaker models, the AMU108-120 and AMU208-120, along with two new mounting accessory options.
John Maier, CEO of Bose Professional, said:
The newly expanded AMU Series delivers on our promise to develop professional solutions that perform effortlessly in demanding applications. These new loudspeakers build on our 50-year legacy of cutting-edge product development, employing some very innovative technology to solve real-world coverage problems, providing our customers with the tools they need to create exceptional audio experiences.”
The company stresses these additions enhance the versatility of the AMU series by offering wider coverage options while preserving the series’ hallmark features, including high-output sound, exceptional vocal clarity, and rich musical depth. Designed for a variety of applications, Bose Professional emphasises that the expanded AMU lineup delivers robust performance and adaptability.
The AMU108-120 and AMU208-120 loudspeakers are now available worldwide.
More Information On The New AMU Speakers’ Feature Set
Bose Professional explains that its new AMU108-120 speaker features a constant-directivity horn with a redesigned waveguide, providing a wide and uniform 120° × 60° coverage. It is equipped with a Bose Professional LF8 8-inch woofer, delivering a peak SPL of 121 dB and a frequency response of 80 Hz – 16 kHz.
The company says its larger AMU208-120 offers the same 120° × 60° high-frequency coverage but incorporates dual Bose Professional LF8 8-inch woofers. This setup achieves a peak SPL of 126 dB and a frequency response of 70 Hz – 16 kHz, making it suitable for larger or more demanding audio environments.
The AMU Series is pitched as including versatile mounting accessories to support a range of installation scenarios. These accessories feature a new pole adapter and suspension rail brackets, stainless-steel U-brackets, surface-mount pan and tilt brackets, and single-point suspension brackets with multi-angle attachment points.
Bose Professional adds that all AMU Series loudspeakers are designed for durability. They offer a UV-resistant finish and an IP55 outdoor rating without requiring custom orders or additional surcharges for weatherisation.
For enhanced performance, Bose Professional suggests users can integrate the MB210-WR, a dual 10-inch weatherised subwoofer, to deliver deeper bass. Additionally, PowerShareX amplifiers include factory-optimised presets tailored for AMU loudspeakers, ensuring peak performance and simplifying system installation.
“We engineered the AMU Series to be scalable and meet the diverse needs of large distributed and small-to-mid-sized audio systems,” added Shawn Watts, Director of Product Management at Bose Professional.
“With multiple driver configurations, flexible mounting options, and colours, the AMU line provides virtually limitless installation and coverage possibilities for both indoor and outdoor use. These loudspeakers combine peak performance and vocal intelligibility with simplified installation and are well-suited for spaces like bars, high-energy restaurants, fitness centres, auditoriums, concourses, theme parks, and public areas.”
