Gamma’s Coolwave Acquisition Yields Fruit as it Integrates International Voice Termination Abilities

Gamma Communications is harvesting the seeds it planted with its Coolwave Communications’ acquisition by integrating international voice termination capabilities into its global offering.

The British ISP acquired international SMS and voice services provider Coolwave in February 2024 to expand its capabilities and presence in the international voice and SMS market.

After a six-month integration process, Gamma has announced it has added deep voice expertise and advanced routing.

“Over the last six months, we have worked closely with the Coolwave team to optimise our approach to transnational voice and maximise our synergies, Gamma Director of Service Providers Mike Mills said.

“Today, our customers benefit from ultra-reliable termination and intelligent voice routing globally.”

Gamma’s Growth in Capabilities

Gamma offers a range of unified communications, mobile and connectivity services, providing end-to-end business communication and collaboration solutions.

Additional international voice termination capabilities allow routing and connecting international voice calls from one network to another, enabling seamless global communication.

Coolwave Commercial Director Ronan Higgins commented:

“Voice remains a critical communication tool and service providers are seeing massive opportunities in supporting UCaaS and CPaaS platforms locally and globally.

This service is crucial for businesses and telecom providers to facilitate international calling at reduced costs while maintaining high quality and reliability.

Gamma asserts that the update ensures just that across the globe.

Additionally, Coolwave’s expertise in numbering services, including two-way voice, mobile, toll-free, and wholesale termination, complements Gamma’s existing offerings, enabling them to provide a more comprehensive suite of services to international clients.

Securing a Place Internationally

Currently, Gamma serves 400 service provider customers and 1000 channel partners.

With its main market being the UK—with a presence in German, Spanish and Dutch business markets— integrating Coolwave’s capabilities into its technology helps Gamma to serve the growing communications needs of its customers as they expand their international footprint.

This is thanks to Coolwave’s portfolio, which Gamma is utilising to amplify its delivery of voice services to over 100 countries.

Such integration therefore strengthens Gamma’s position in the global service provider market, allowing them to better compete with other international communication service providers and meet the evolving needs of providers.

The Acquisition Advantage

Gamma has a history of using acquisitions into augmenting its offerings.

Last year, it also acquired Brightcloud to bolster its portfolio of CCaaS and CX products and services in a bid to become a premier managed service provider for European enterprises.

Equally, Gamma bolstered its UC portfolio with the acquisition of the EnableX group, a three channel business: Pragma, Techland, and Candio to focus on helping resellers seize new opportunities and achieve success across different technology sectors, especially cloud communications.

It also reinforced its collaboration with Cisco by launching its new Horizon with Webex solution, which is built on Gamma’s network and serves millions of users across the UK.
