Zoom has revealed Webinars can now benefit from Zoom Apps along with a list of meeting and webinar app releases.

Zoom Apps for Webinars provide capabilities, such as branding, real-time audience engagement, and engagement insights.

There are also engaging apps to improve meeting and webinar experiences via customisable participant video streams, meetings canvases, and images.

Over 100 Zoom Apps have been published, and the Zoom Apps program has been made available to all developers.

Zoom Apps for Webinars

There are now Zoom Apps available for Webinars, facilitating an improved collaboration experience for events with 100+ attendees. Hosts and panellists can engage with attendees without needing to be logged in.

Live reactions such as applause, hearts, and GIFs in Webinars can now be integrated using Applause Studio.

Attendee engagement and insights can be captured with Pigeonhole Live. The application can add Q&As, quizzes, multiple choice polls, and word clouds. Key engagement insights can be captured without compromising attendee privacy.

The Pledge app can be used to turn a Zoom Webinar or Meeting into a fundraiser for more than two million charities.

With one click, Webinars can be translated into over 20 languages using the Wordly App in Zoom Webinars.

Mentimeter enables hosts to garner real-time input and unbiased feedback using D&As, quizzes, polls, and more.

Formal invitations can be managed using the Linkando App. Meeting agendas, automated meeting minutes, and voting and elections can all be added to Zoom Webinars using this application.

Engaging Meeting and Webinar Apps

The Donations by Pledge app allows hosts to transform their Zoom videos into engaging donation displays, showing a live donations feed with the total sum raised and a call to action.

Warmly’s app lets you access real-time content without exiting the Zoom app, such as adding memes to your feed or sending a GIF reaction.

Welo offers its virtual room software on the Zoom App store. Attendees are merged into a virtual room using avatars, and they can be easily moved into rooms by the host.

Funtivity increases employee engagement for distributed workforces using over 30 activities, including quizzes, escape rooms, doodle challenges, and more. The application targets team building, inclusion events, onboarding, and other corporate occasions.

Developer Opportunities

A Zoom Meetings app can be easily converted to run in Zoom Webinars using the Zoom Apps SDK. Guest users do not need to log in or add the app in order to use it as an attendee.

Developers can now create more engaging experiences by adding a compositing engine that will be accessible to most web developers. The Zoom video engine is directly accessed by the Layers API, dynamically compositing the foreground, background, and video.

Quick Start Guide for Zoom Apps

To begin with, download the latest version of the Zoom client.

Next, click on the Apps tabs inside Zoom (also located on the toolbar of Zoom Meetings). Ensure this option has been enabled by your administrator via account settings.
