Q-SYS and Lenovo have partnered to deliver the Microsoft Teams-certified Q-SYS UC Compute Bundle.

The Q-SYS UC Compute Bundle for Microsoft Teams Rooms simplifies the design, procurement and deployment of AV and UC products for high-impact environments. Q-SYS’s capabilities encompass room automation, automatic multi-camera switching, HDMI video distribution, and various other features, facilitating enhanced collaboration experiences tailored to the specific requirements of each space, making the platform a perfect partner for Lenovo.

Shannon MacKay, General Manager of Worldwide Smart Collaboration Business at Lenovo, said:

The UC Compute Bundle leverages Lenovo’s ThinkSmart Core and ThinkSmart Controller for Teams Rooms to deliver tailored Microsoft Teams Rooms solutions for any collaboration space. Now, customers will be able to enhance their workspace experiences and drive a new level of productivity and connectivity.”

The UC Compute Bundle incorporates the Lenovo ThinkSmart Core and ThinkSmart Controller for Teams Rooms. The integration of the UC Compute Bundle with a wide range of Q-SYS devices certified for Teams enables systems integrators to tailor a Microsoft Teams Rooms solution to suit the requirements of any given space.

Additionally, users can enhance their Microsoft Teams experience by installing the “Q-SYS Control for Microsoft Teams Rooms” application, enabling the inclusion of room environmental controls alongside Microsoft Teams controls on a unified interface.

“We’re delighted to introduce the UC Compute Bundle in collaboration with Lenovo, who is known for their high-quality compute solutions,” added Josh Arnold, Director, Collaboration Application Strategy at Q-SYS. “This solution simplifies the process of scaling Microsoft Teams Rooms into high-impact spaces.”

What Else Has Lenovo Been Up To Recently?

In November, Lenovo and EPOS partnered to deliver “future hardware, software and services” to support excellent audio experiences in the hybrid work era.

The partnership entails EPOS becoming Lenovo’s global audio partner for PC audio accessories. The mutual ambition is to jointly develop hardware, software and services that offer professional audio solutions and produce PC and audio ecosystems for enhanced engagement and productivity.

The partnership’s initial collaboration is evident in the joint release of Lenovo EPOS headsets, which have received certification for Teams and Zoom. The primary goal is to assist professionals in hybrid work setups, and these headsets are also optimized for compatibility with other Unified Communication (UC) platforms, showcasing EPOS’s recognized standards in sound quality and comfort.

Two notable products resulting from this collaboration are the Lenovo Wired VOIP Headset and the Lenovo Wired ANC Headset Gen 2. Both headsets share a common form factor design and are equipped with an inline call control box for user convenience. The USB-C plug facilitates connection to any PC, and the design of the ear cups prioritizes user comfort. Additionally, the latter headset incorporates Active Noise Cancellation, enhancing the audio experience by minimizing the impact of ambient noise.

In June, Lenovo launched a standalone collaboration product for Microsoft Teams hybrid work environments.

Including a 27-inch multi-touch display, premium video and audio capabilities, and built-in compute power, the ThinkSmart View Plus is an all-in-one device intended to boost productivity and collaboration. Providing a tailored Microsoft Teams Display experience with additional security features, the device offers users access to Teams chat, calendar, and files, while enabling them to join meetings directly from the device.

The ThinkSmart View Plus also supports hotdesking, empowering employees to rapidly locate flexible workspaces for impromptu calls, ad-hoc meetings, or accessing their personal Teams environment.

What About Q-SYS?

Q-SYS and Lenovo partnered earlier this year to offer bundled room compute solutions with Q-SYS audio, video, and control.

UC Today caught up with Jason Moss, VP of Corporate Development and Alliances, Q-SYS and Shannon MacKay, General Manager, WW Smart Collaboration Business Group, Lenovo, in May to discuss the partnership.

This collaboration sought to broaden the market presence of both companies within the UC sector by presenting a comprehensive solution for customers seeking to implement high-impact spaces.

The collaborative solution is accessible through Q-SYS channels and partner networks, providing customers with a comprehensive package that streamlines the adoption and deployment of dynamic, scalable meeting spaces, enhancing the overall collaboration experience.
