Snom has unveiled its SP800 system designed to offer premium, secure telephony for remote and hybrid workplaces.

This solution intends to set new standards for high-quality telephony, catering to organisations with heightened security needs using remote desktops, terminal servers, or soft clients. Widely favoured across various industries, such as call centres, banking, insurance, and public sectors, these solutions empower employees to access centrally available applications from any location with just an internet connection.

These technologies aim to reduce admin costs by eliminating individual installations and offer effective protection against resource misuse and security risks.

More Details On The SP800

Traditionally designed for data access and processing, integrated telephone systems with softphones and headsets can eliminate the need for separate phone purchases and prevent unauthorised calls, although sometimes at the expense of audio quality because terminal servers cannot distinguish between data and audio.

Snom has introduced its SP800 to bolster user experiences in these environments. While conventional terminal server solutions often struggle with subpar speech quality, Snom says the SP800 ensures a premium audio experience.

With features mirroring those of a Snom D862 desk phone, the SP800 boasts a robust security architecture. This enables employees to enjoy exceptional listening experiences typical of Snom devices via remote desktops or soft clients. Snom insists that voice transmission remains clear and audible even in demanding application scenarios.

The device offers various features, including the latest audio codecs, comfort noise, speech pause detection, DND (“Do Not Disturb”), and adaptive jitter buffers. Setting new standards for efficiency and user-friendliness, the SP800 streamlines configuration via auto-provisioning, SRAPS, or a user-friendly web interface. It also offers seamless computer telephony integration and comprehensive diagnostic tools. The phone operates via USB headsets or other accessories with a 3.5 mm jack.

Thanks to its sleek, discreet design, the SP800 blends seamlessly into any work environment, easily placed on or under desks. Snom suggests it represents the ideal solution for companies prioritising secure, high-quality communication without compromising flexibility.

The Snom SP800 is now available from specialist retailers and has a three-year manufacturer’s warranty.

Snom Expands Zoom Partnership with Phone Certification

Last October, the Snom M500 DECT series was certified by Zoom Phone, which Snom Americas said would “revolutionise the Zoom Phone resellers channel”.

Snom’s M500 DECT phone system stands out as an office phone due to its wireless design, enabling users to move freely without the constraints of a phone cord. Through a strategic collaboration with Zoom Phone, Snom stands to gain a significant sales channel, while Zoom resellers can promote its feature set to customers.
