Unified Communications Expo (UCX) and Digital Transformation Expo (DTX), two of the UK’s largest technology events, are set to return to London at the start of October.

The two shows, jointly located at ExCel London, will feature industry-leading speakers from Nvidia, Microsoft, Google, Zoom, the NHS, Charlotte Tilbury, Deliveroo, and ITV.

UCX provides a platform for companies to learn about the latest communication technologies that are helping businesses stay connected with colleagues and customers. The combined DTX + UCX event promises to deliver a wide range of topics covering digital transformation, workplace communication, and the future of technology.

The event will feature talks from high-profile speakers, including Britain’s well-known psychological illusionist Derren Brown, who will open day one with a discussion on personal growth, well-being, and the pursuit of happiness.

His session will focus on how individuals and businesses can break down barriers to success and reinvention.

On day two, video game creator John Romero, best known for designing DOOM, Quake, and Wolfenstein, will share his experiences in leading creative innovation in the gaming industry. Romero will explore how relentless innovation and evolution have been critical to his success and how these lessons can apply to businesses in any sector.

In addition to these headline speakers, the event will also feature a number of panel discussions tackling critical issues facing the technology sector today.

One of the key discussions will focus on how businesses can reimagine their talent and skills development approach to future-proof their workforce. The panel, which includes industry experts from organisations such as STEM Learning and London Marathon, will explore strategies for closing the skills gap and building capability within organisations.

Another significant feature of the event will be a keynote address by Baroness Jones of Whitchurch from the Department for Science, Innovation, and Technology (DSIT), who will discuss the UK government’s vision for the future digital economy. This address will give attendees a better understanding of how the government plans to support and drive digital transformation across various sectors.

The agenda includes a fireside chat on the latest updates to Microsoft’s roadmap, including the Copilot AI tool, and a panel discussion on balancing innovation with sustainability.

The latter will bring together leading voices on sustainability in technology to examine whether the sector is still on track to achieve its green and digital goals. There will also be a discussion on the role of human-centred technology design, with participants from companies like BT and Booking.com.

In addition to speaker sessions and panels, DTX + UCX will offer interactive workshops and masterclasses for those looking to dive deeper into specific topics. These sessions will cover areas such as digital strategies, AI ethics, and mastering Microsoft’s Copilot technology.
