As one of the leading vendors of “interactive display” experiences, Avocor has an excellent reputation for building intuitive, dynamic displays that take team work to the next level. The E-Series might not be the latest screen collection from this brand, but it’s definitely among the most popular.

The Avocor E-Series collection of displays offers companies a range of cost-effective, intuitive screens perfect for the modern meeting room. These displays are easy to deploy (and manage), great for BYOD connectivity, and wonderfully interactive.

Unfortunately, compared to the other meeting screens I’ve tried, it lacks some features, such as a built-in camera.

The Avocor E-Series is a collaboration-focused collection of interactive displays designed by Avocor to offer companies a convenient way to unify staff in the age of hybrid work. While it doesn’t include a webcam, or advanced AI features, like competing products, such as the Microsoft Surface Hub 3, the touchscreen capabilities are some of the best around.

Plus, it’s worth noting that the E-Series is a lot more affordable (depending on your preferred screen size) than some of the other displays I’ve reviewed. You can purchase one of the smaller displays for around $1,200. That’s a lot less than you’d pay for something like the Cisco Board Pro G2.

There are four sizes to choose from (55”, 65”, 75”, and 86”), making this display a good pick for small to large meeting rooms. You also get the same features regardless of the size you choose, including an interactive touch-screen display, and front-facing 40W soundbar.

Avocor E-Series Review: The Display and Interactivity

Let’s start with a look at one of the most important features to consider when choosing a meeting room screen: the display quality. Regardless of which sized screen you choose, the E-Series delivers an exceptionally crisp and vibrant 4K viewing experience, ideal for hybrid meetings.

The lightweight LED screen benefits from an exceptionally slim bezel, great for offices with minimal meeting room space. Plus, Avocor has invested in state-of-the-art glass technology to improve not only your viewing experience but also your interactivity with the screen. As I mentioned above, Avocor’s focus on the touchscreen market definitely shines through in this collection.

There’s absolutely no gap between the glass and the actual display screen, which means you get a sleek, pixel-perfect writing experience, whether you’re using one of the included styluses or your finger. Speaking of which, the glass itself is coated with a special anti-glare and anti-fingerprint solution to help preserve the quality of your image.

Each screen has built-in ” Avocor UiQ, ” which delivers a highly dynamic user interface, complete with a touch menu for remote-control-free usage. I loved drawing and writing on this screen and was particularly impressed by how well the software distinguishes between your finger, palm, and the included pens.

With 20 points of touch support, the E-Series goes above and beyond the interactive features offered by other, simpler displays. I think it would be a fantastic pick for companies that host a lot of brainstorming meetings, creative collaboration sessions, or educational training events.

The Collaboration Features and Connectivity

One of the major downsides I encountered with the Avocor E-Series, was the lack of a built-in webcam and microphones. Ultimately, having an all-in-one screen for meetings that already includes the extra endpoints you need to collaborate with remote teams is pretty useful these days.

The Avocor E-Series only includes a front-facing soundbar for listening to audio. This soundbar is excellent, delivering exceptional, crystal-clear sound at any volume. Additionally, you can always connect your external webcams and microphones to the screen itself.

It has an enhanced HDMI out support for 4K video at 60Hz. Plus, there’s a range of connectivity options, such as USB hub connection, front-facing guest HDMI, and USB touch connections. This gives the screen an edge in terms of BYOD functionality. Anyone can easily link the devices they prefer to use to the system and start collaborating.

I do think that building microphones and webcams into the device would make it a more appealing option for most companies though. It would certainly reduce the amount of wires you need to deal with when setting up your hybrid office spaces.

Avocor E-Series Review: Device Management

Device management is a crucial concern for most companies today. That’s particularly true in the hybrid and flexible work landscape. It’s extremely useful to be able to keep track of all of your endpoints, how and where they’re being used, and how well they’re performing.

If you’re looking for in-depth analytics, the Avocor E-Series doesn’t come with the most advanced device management software built in. However, it does include access to the FUSE remote management system, which allows you to automatically and remotely update firmware on your devices straight from the cloud.

You can also use the software to easily add applications and tools to your display, such as Slack, or Microsoft Office. Plus, you can personalize the design of every screen remotely, adding your own branded elements or optimizing the interface for users.

There’s also access to a handful of other useful tools, like “Moderator Mode” which allows the host to manage screen sharing and participation in any meeting. I would have liked to see more tools that offer insights into things like device health and usage. However, you could always use alternative tools for this purpose, or leverage the features built into systems like Microsoft Teams Rooms.

Avocor E-Series: The Verdict

The Avocor E-Series of interactive touchscreen displays are powerful, affordable, and user-friendly devices, with a lot of great features. They’re a great option for hybrid companies who want to boost immersion for their teams during creative collaboration sessions.

These screens excel at delivering phenomenal touchscreen capabilities, without compromising on visual appeal, or convenience. They’re also a lot more affordable than many other alternatives. However, if you’re looking for an all-in-one kit, with an integrated microphone and camera system, or advanced endpoint management software, the Avocor E-Series is lacking in some areas.

I’d recommend these screens to organizations looking for a straightforward and affordable way to transform how teams work together, particularly in brainstorming sessions.
