Envoy has published the results of its workplace trends survey, which found that outdated and manual processes were leading to a “drain on resources”.

The negative impact includes time-consuming reporting, incomplete data insights, and unused or underused spaces.

Conversely, the results demonstrate a need for businesses to shift to automated and efficient data collection and reporting processes.

Envoy, the integrated workplace platform that connects people, spaces, and data, believes that this will reduce delays, improve the speed and accuracy of decision-making, free up time, and enable teams to focus on strategic developments.

The workplace trends survey was introduced by Envoy yesterday along with its assessment: “Envoy… today published its latest workplace trends guide, which includes data from 440+ surveyed executives and managers across various departments including workplace and facilities management, workplace security, IT, finance, and HR.”

“In recent years, organisations have faced significant shifts in workplace dynamics, pushing them to constantly adapt.”

However, many have relied on outdated and manual processes as short-term solutions, leading to inefficiencies in workplace management.”

Workplace Trends Guide: Key Findings

Key findings from the Envoy survey included 47 percent of companies choosing to delay important business decisions as a result of inefficient remote and hybrid work policies, which were ultimately having a negative impact on their bottom line.

More than 40 percent of enterprises spend over 11 hours every month creating space utilisation reports, with some dedicating a staggering 40 hours to this task.

Employee attendance data for real estate decisions were manually collected by 60 percent of workplace leaders, which could be easily improved with automation solutions.

According to 17 percent of businesses surveyed, over a quarter of space is either not being used or is being used too little, demonstrating plenty of room for space and cost savings.

Other findings from the survey include 96 percent of companies encouraging or enforcing onsite work, pointing to a shift back to physical workplaces.

Two-thirds of business leaders surveyed said they are looking to use workplace data to improve employee experiences and establish data-driven work policies.

The greatest workplace management challenges are security and compliance maintenance (48 percent) and taking on new technologies (47 percent).

AI advancements will be the biggest influence on the workplace over the next ten years, 51 percent of respondents said.

Although there is a demand for new technologies, 78 percent of businesses shared that they are consolidating their tech stacks or researching consolidation possibilities.
