Vonage has announced its partnership with mobile financial platform Lydia Solutions has seen it yield new security and customer experience capabilities.
“At Vonage, we’re passionate about helping forward-thinking companies like Lydia Solutions create secure, user-friendly experiences,”
Seckin Arikan, Head of Business Unit API at Vonage, said.
Utilising Vonage’s strong network, they were able to introduce solutions that enable more seamless verification of customers with its Verify API and Silent Authentication.
Lydia Solutions claims the partnership, which began in October 2024, has seen improved conversion rates, time savings, security and total cost of ownership (TCO).
API and Silent Authentication’s Uplift
Since starting the partnership, Lydia Solutions reports being able to safeguard user data, protect the privacy of tens of thousands of users daily, and increase customer conversion rates using this technology.
This feature of seamlessness and ease of access came at a time when Lydia Solutions had set an ambitious plan to be Europe’s leading digital bank by 2030.
Therefore, with customer acquisition on the cards—wanting to grow its customer base in France to five million active users by 2027—and the new launch of its mobile banking app, Sumeria, Lydia Solutions wanted to make sure everything was finely tuned to make that happen.
Two ports of call were, therefore, customer security journeys and the reduction in costs to deal with it.
Crucial to this is Silent Authentication, a channel within Vonage Verify.
With a growth in social engineering attacks spurred by the use of AI, the use of such security screening is having to increase to make sure accounts stay secure and accessed by people claiming to be who they say they are.
One-Time Passwords (OTPs), although an adequate solution, make the process less than seamless.
Silent Authentication does away with the requirement.
It automatically verifies users via their mobile network provider, utilising data from the data connection of their smartphones, which streamlines and secures the authentication process.
This CPaaS solution allows Lydia Solutions users to authenticate safely using only their phone number.
The result is a frictionless authentication process that improves customer experience and gives users peace of mind.
“Vonage Verify with Silent Authentication has been a real innovation for us,”
William Brulin, Senior VP at Lydia Solutions, said.
“The solution has elevated our ability to deliver a simpler, seamless and more secure user experience while protecting against increasingly sophisticated threats and fraud patterns.”
The Vonage Verify API not only does away with the need for manual OTP entries, but if necessary, it can switch to other secure methods like SMS, voice, or WhatsApp, minimising disruptions and maintaining convenience for end-users.
Key results since Lydia Solutions went live include:
- Enhanced user experience: increased conversion rates.
- Significant time savings: up to 50% reduction in latency when compared to Lydia Solutions’s previous authentication services.
- Improved security: social engineering attacks based on OTP sharing are virtually eliminated due to Silent Authentication.
- Improved total cost of ownership: controlled authentication-related costs help maximise efficiency.
“By opening up the network’s capabilities to build applications with advanced security features, we enable enterprises like Lydia Solutions to not only enhance their internal operations but also deliver enhanced value and trust to their end customers,” Arikan said.
Vonage’s Recent Voyage
Despite a somewhat rocky summer of 2024, during which Vonage owner Ericsson announced it would book a $1.1 billion writedown following a weak outlook for the business, the CPaaS service provider has been making moves.
It announced new features following this writedown, like new AI-powered SIP capabilities to enhance voice engagement and connectivity.
Plus, it appointed the former Avaya and Bandwidth executive Anthony Bartolo as its new Chief Operating Officer.
Although too early to state conclusively, it seems Ericsson has plans yet for Vonage, and attaching it to projects of potential high growth can lay the ground for expansion of current partnerships like those with Lydia Solutions.
